‘Sandosham!’ (‘Happiness’ in the Tamil language) is a new initiative of AMAIDI Volunteering in India, an attempt to create a place where children with special needs are accepted and learn to accept others. It is meant to become a ‘center of expertise’, where children are temporarily helped to accept themselves and feel accepted having special needs. And where parents are taught how to deal with their little ones, without losing the love for them. Sandosham! wants to be a place where all involved, inclusive of teachers, parents, special educators and the children form a happy community. Where living comes first and teaching will follow.
At this moment a paper is being written about the mission and vision of Sandosham!
We’ll keep you informed.
